7th MARCH 2021 - FURTHER GROUP UPDATE
We have had to make changes to the CL69LG, we need to make it clear that the Class 69 Locomotive Group is an 'Appreciation Group' dedicated to the Class 69 Locomotives, as a Group we will only look at any preservation opportunities should they arise in the future.
As a Group we will be out and about with our Sales Stand once Government Guidance allows promoting the Class 69 locomotive, funds raised through the Group will be used for merchandise to sell on the Sales stand and any other sundries needed.
So, just to clarify, although we are officially known as "Class 69 Locomotive Group" CL69LG, we are officially operating as an "Appreciation Group" promoting the Class 69 Locomotives, Preservation discussions will only take place if the opportunity to preserve a Class 69 ever arises.

04th MARCH 2021 - GROUP UPDATE
After having discussions 03/03/21, the 'Committee elect' have agreed that a long term goal for the CL69LG will be to look at the feasibility of preserving a Class 69 locomotive as and when they reach end of life on the national network, this is written in the Group Constitution [full details found on the website].
From this, the purpose of this Group is:
1) To operate as a "Railway Locomotive Group" promoting the awareness of the Class 69 Locomotives during their working life by documenting through Social Media Platforms.
2) To encourage our Members to stay safe when out documenting the Class 69 Locomotives & ensuring they also stay safe with our new way of life adhering to Pandemic Government Guidance.
3) To work in partnership with all stakeholders to achieve Aims & Objectives for the feasibility of the CL69LG preserving and operating a class 69 locomotive on heritage railways once the Class 69 Locomotives reaches end of life on the national network.
From the 'Committee Elect' discussions that took place to answer a questions raised regards funding, we can now confirm that any funds raised into the CL69LG bank account will go towards the preservation of a Class 69 Locomotive.
The Constitution does state that should the CL69LG cease to exist prior to achieving its goal, then the raised funds would go to a chosen Heritage Railway Group.
I hope this has now cleared up matters that have been raised and discussed over the last few days.
A lot of work has been done to get this Group this far, and in doing so may have caused some miscommunication along the way, we apologize for any misunderstanding and hopefully this has now rectified issues raised and hope to move the Group forward.
If you wish to discuss this further, then please email me at [email protected]
